The history of the school building

In 1784 at the emperor Josef II. the state bought the piece of the land on so-called Špitálské pole (behind the old town snt. George hospital ) from the knight Brachtfeld

In the years 1784-1786 the army main hospital was build on this piece of the land with the help of the town Jihlava. A new building was a spacious and large construction in that time. The object was composed of the building and the conected pieces of land, what were engaged as the garden and the park for the patients. The building had 14 hospital rooms, own chapel, there were the army scene with the religious topics decorated on the walls, maybe they were painted with the soldiers - patients.

The army hospital building served its purpose more than one century. It found the best using during the I. World war, when 600 injured and ill soldiers were in hospital . A few wood cottages were build in the hospital , what had to complete the bed capacity of the fist building. It served the hospital purposes both during The first republic, and during II. World war, when it was again the army hospital.

In 1948 the building was transformed into the building for the regional public servis SNB, what worked there to its end in 1960.

After a few time it has been used as the automobile non-commissioned officer school for the inner guard. After its departure in 1964 the school Ministry of the Interior was established there.

A modern history of the school

A modern history of this school started in 1964, when the school Ministry of the Interior was set up there. In that time it was a basic school for the policemen . After a new school system in a department of MI was established, this school changed to SSS MI. The study in the secondary special school started on the 1st September 1964. It was biennial daily study, what the policemen studied to get the traffic service specialization. Because it was only one school of this type in CSSR, the policemen from Bohemia, Moravia and Slovakia studied here.

In 1974 SSS was disestablished and the WO school was established there, what offers the policemen the educatin after passing the final exam. In 1976 the WO school was disestablished and the school was translationed to the authority PS SNB Brno, like the school formation. Since 1979 the school has been again the educational institute SNB. In 1989 the school changed to SPS MI. This school prepares the policemen after final exam study in the long time courses and offers the short time courses for the traffic police and the other special teams.

The history of lodging-house "Zámeček" (Small castle)

The school building for the German youth training was build in 1941 in the park (young men were prepared for the diplomatic services). After freedom in 1945 the boardinghouse for young workers was set up there. In years 1960-65 the students from the training college had lodging-house there. From 1965 to 1990 the building was used for the student lodgings from the Jihlava detachment of the agricultural university in Brno. For the next 4 years the building has been empty, wasteawayed and destractioned.

In 1995 SPS MI in Jihlava got it by the free right of the exchange from the Ministry of Education. The reconstruction of the building was started in September 1995 and finished in November 1996 and it cost about 30 mil. crowns. The building is used now for the lodgings for the students of police school . There are plans of the using of the attic for the next housing premises and of the reconstruction of the contiguous outbuildings. 2,5 hectares of the forest park and sports grounds belong to this building too .
